KEGIATAN PENELITIAN SEBAGI USAHA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PROFESIONALISME GURU MATEMATIKA

Research is an activity to get knowledge called science,according to procedures that are systematic and research methodology. As a teacher or prospective teacher's innovative mathematics required to always do discussion of how we get knowledge about the learning mathematics in accordance with current trends. Our knowledge about aspects of learning mathematics as a knowledge that understanding of scientific about the workings of the mind of individual students in learning mathematics. It aims to produce professional teachers get best teacher.

Approach to mathematics education research can be done by any way, among other quantitative research. Quantitative studies of mathematics learning to rely on the scientific method to find rules, laws and principles concerning the reality of learning mathematics in school. The laws are found either by way of deduction or induction. Quantitative research considers that the learning of mathematics are objective and measurable.Research is the hermeneutical activity, ie a teacher or a researcher trying to uncover aspects of learning mathematics as a phenomena in the form of facts that can be observed directly or in the form of the potential for development that requires treatment. Hermenitik circle in mathematics education research provides full awareness to the researchers that the learning of mathematics and its components are interconnected.

Where the scope of the study of mathematics education can be derived from the impetus for reform of mathematics education; in which it was realized that innovation mathematics education can be sourced to conceptual factors, values, pragmatic, empirical and political.According Ebbutt and Straker (1995) for all levels of education both elementary, middle and senior high school, the study of mathematics learning materials include: facts, concepts, reasoning, skill algorithms, problem solving, investigation.


As for the research model that can be applied in mathematics education research, for example: Achievement Concept Model; Model Exercise Research; Model Sinektik; Model Classroom Conferences; Model Investigation Group; Model Research jurisprudence; Model Exercise Laboratory; Models for Social Research; ModelKontrol Self; and Model Simulations.

From the description above was concluded that as a mathematics teacher candidates should be able to conduct research related to mathematical problems or issues you are about to become a professional teacher.
